Person First Language
| Using person-first language can be a way to show you can be an advocate for people experiencing homelessness. Attaching a label to someone erases their identities, and doesn’t show that homelessness is a temporary situation for most people. Displacement (Gentrification)
| Housing in America has been exclusionary and unfair to people of color and other marginalized families and individuals. We are seeing rapid changes within neighborhoods that are resulting in residential displacement that negatively affects people of color disproportionately.
